ALL WRITER WORKSHOPS Registration Policy
Our goal is to provide quality workshops that will benefit all participants. The best way to insure this is by adhering to the policies outlined below. Please print this information to have handy for reviewing later.
WORKSHOP Registration DEADLINE and LIMITS
Every registration has a deadline, but some workshops also have limited registration, which means a workshop registration may end prior to the deadline date if the student capacity is filled. This allows our instructors to provide each student who signs up for the FULL Registration workshop with the time and attention necessary to a quality program. Unless otherwise stated, the cut-off will be one day prior to the start of the workshop for all types of registration. FULL Registrations with limited capacity will be closed once that limited capacity has been filled. Any class that is visible on the schedule is still open for at least the limited OBSERVATION ONLY Registration (explained below). It is the students’ responsibility to follow the instructions provided in the dashboard and throughout the website to insure that all steps for registration are completed for the workshops they desire.
Early registration is strongly advised to secure your place in the writing class of your choice and to allow early confirmation of class schedules.
For immediate online registration, workshop fee is payable in full with Visa or Mastercard. The transaction will take place over a secure Internet connection; your personal information and credit card number will be encrypted so it cannot be read by anyone except the professional staff of All Writer Workshops.
Cancellations & Refunds
We’re absolutely confident that you will enjoy and benefit from your online workshop experience, and your paid registration guarantees a place for you. Because that place cannot be filled after the registration cut-off date, if circumstances do force you to withdraw, the following refund policies apply:
If we cancel or reschedule a course, you are entitled to a full refund if you choose not to take the class on the rescheduled date.
Refunds of fifty percent will be allowed if the student cancels no later than 5 days prior to the start of the workshop. No refund will be given after five days prior to the start of the workshop.
In order to cancel your registration, you must notify us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org; refund calculations and approval will be based on the date/time the email is received by us. Your email message must include: your full name, registered email address (if different from the address you are emailing us from), and the name and start date of the course you wish to cancel.
Failure to submit assignments or “attend” the course will not result in a refund under any circumstance. Attendance and timely completion of assignments is entirely up to the student, who will have 20 days after the end of the workshop to visit the classroom and review all material and comments that happened during the scheduled workshop. Notifying the instructor will not result in a withdrawal. You must contact our customer service team using this email – email@example.com.
Refunds take 4-6 weeks to process, and will only be given via the same form of payment you used when registering.
Program Software Requirements
The All Writer Workshops interface has been designed for ease of use. In order to participate fully in all workshop areas and activities, you will need a current Internet browser, version 6.0 or higher of Internet Explorer (version 5.0 for Mac users), version 7 or higher of Netscape Navigator, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple’s Safari (we do not recommend using AOL’s built-in browser or any other Internet Service Provider’s proprietary browser, as certain functions may be restricted). Because we regularly upgrade the site and add features, we recommend always using the most current browser version available for your system to make sure that you can take advantage of enhancements as they are made. If you need to upgrade your browser, go to your browser manufacturer’s website and click on the free download. You will also need an email account to receive registration confirmations and workshop announcements.
You will receive email notification of acceptance of your registration as soon as your registration is processed. You will also be registered as a member of AllWriterWorkshops.com, which provides you with a dashboard so that you can review your workshop information at any time. IMPORTANT: You will be able to access your workshop classroom on the All Writer Workshops website one day prior to the workshop start date. We highly recommend that you visit early to become familiar with the classroom and to insure that you have no trouble accessing it. If you have any issues or do not receive your confirmation email, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Attendance and Assignments
Our workshops are not academic classes; you will not be graded on either your attendance or your writing assignments. However, you will get the most out of your workshop if you participate fully. This means doing all of the assignments, attending lectures and participating in any discussions during the workshops. A certain amount of flexibility is inherent to an online workshop, which allows you to participate around your schedule, but that does not mean an instructor will be available twenty-four hours a day. We encourage each instructor to keep students informed of the times he or she will be in the classroom, but you’ll be able to visit the classroom at any time once it is open for the workshop, whether the instructor is present online or not. This means there is no set time that you need to be online to take part in this workshop as long as you realize the instructor may reply to any questions you post when he or she returns if you visit during a time the instructor is offline (example: if you visit during what might be 3:00 am for the instructor). You will be given ample time to do all of the readings and assignments, but within each session of the workshop, you may be required to adhere to a specific deadline set by the instructor in order to receive feedback on assignments.
AWW online workshops are not graded, and we do not confer any type of academic credit. However, many colleges and universities do accept non-accredited distance education course work on a case-by-case basis. This decision is solely at the discretion of the undergraduate program to which you apply, and inquiries should be directed to that program’s administrative staff.
Current U.S. tax law permits certain deductions for tuition, books, supplies and similar expenses incurred to maintain and improve professional skills. Tuition payments may also be eligible for Lifetime Learning tax credits. For current tax information, always consult your local tax professional. (Please note that these are non-vocational workshops and are not intended to provide instruction that results in the acquisition of occupational skills or professional certification.)
Proficiency in English is required for all online workshops. In any grammar-related workshops grammar and/or grammar usage is not intended to meet ESL requirements. There are no additional charges for students outside the U.S., but tuition must be paid in U.S. funds (all prices posted on our website are in U.S. dollars).
